Sitting in the front passenger seat, during a road trip, is an excellent time to reflect, watch the world go by, and, take pictures. Most times my passenger seat pictures turn out blurred and messy - the occasional bug splatter gets in the way or the perfect picture is photo-bombed by a blurred shrub. Some times the pictures turn out clear. Occasionally they turn out gorgeous.
On a recent trip to Las Cruces, I decided to take continuous photos from the passenger seat, and, out my windows. The project didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned it. However, I think these photographs will still give someone, who has never driven from Albuquerque to Las Cruces, some interesting perspectives. All of these photographs were taken while driving southbound on I-25.
We live in a beautiful state.
I started with a picture of the Rio Grande River, looking north.
Most of the pictures are of western views. High mesas and mountains.
The skies were heavy with moisture filled clouds that made for dramatic color contrasts. We also got some rain.
Fertile valleys.
Orchards.
The Organ Mountains at a distance.
Next up - Las Cruces to Albuquerque.
